Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal (SVKM), is a public charitable trust registered under The Society's Registration Act and Bombay Public Trust Act.
SVKM was established in 1934 with the purpose of providing school level education to the Vile Parle area and in this journey of 86 years, SVKM established as one of the trusted educational brand in the world. Over all these years SVKM has spread its wings to places all over India such as Bangalore, Hyderabad, Bhopal, Indore, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Navi Mumbai etc.
The ethos of the SVKM, is marked by patriotic fervor, selfless service and a spirit of indigenous enterprise. These values permeate all the institutions set up by the SVKM and are the guiding principles for all of them.
All SVKM institutes such as Mithibai College of Arts, Narsee Monjee College of Commerce, NMIMS Deemed-to-be University, UPG College etc have a state of art facilities and infrastructure in keeping with the strong vision and passion of SVKM to enhance the quality of the modern educational system. SVKM has always focused on the quality education at various levels and in different fields of engineering, management, commerce, pharmacy etc imparting higher education to more than 40000 students.
With its roots in the Swadeshi Movement, SVKM is now an ever growing, which promotes excellence in education. It also emphasizes on high values, professionalism, social sensitivity and dynamic entrepreneurship. Through all these it encourages global thinking without diminishing the importance of national interests.
Our President
Shri Amrishbhai Patel, current President and Trustee of Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal, started his glorious journey into the fields of social work and politics by becoming the co-opt member of Nagarpalika at the insistence of locals and later contesting for elections and successfully becoming the President. His contribution and effort have had a profound impact on the development of Shirpur, a taluka center on the outskirts of Maharastra and Madhya Pradesh.
The trusts headed by Shri Amrishbhai Patel have set up in Shirpur and surrounding villages, 69 schools and 13 colleges including those for Engineering, Management, Pharmacy and Textile.
These institutions offer education to as many as 32000 students.In the field of education in Mumbai also, Shri Amrishbhai Patel's entrepreneurship and efforts have yielded unprecedented results. Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal (SVKM) headed by him is a leading educational trust which has, more than 39,000 students studying in various institutes, along with the ever-popular 'NMIMS Deemed-to-be University'. Apart from Mumbai, this University has campuses in Bangaluru, Hyderabad, Shirpur and Chandigarh.
